
Christina-Maria Kravvari, currently Secretary General for Public Health, at the Greek Ministry of Health, is a retired Air Force Captain who served as head of the Health Department, Ministry for Climate Crisis and Civil Protection from March 2020 to April 2025.
She has been appointed alternate national representative for Behavioral and Cultural Insights on Health at the WHO and is also a member of the Advisory Body to the European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA).
She graduated in 2012 as a Second Lieutenant from the Nursing Officers School and worked until 2020 at the 251 Hellenic Air Force General Hospital. She holds a Master’s degree in Social and Preventive Medicine and Quality in Health Care, with emphasis in “Prevention & Public Health” from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and has completed the two-year Executive MSc Health Economics, Policy and Management at the London School of Economics (LSE).
In 2022, she received a certificate of completion for the “Leadership and Character in Uncertain Times” online programme from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and in 2023 she was awarded a scholarship to participate in the Hoover Institution International Seminar (HIIS) at Stanford University.
Her research interests include public and environmental health, emergency health response, and humanitarian assistance.
