Ranko Stevanović, MD, PhD, is Assistant Professor, Senior Research Associate, Specialist in Family Medicine, President of the Croatian Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Health Economics (CSPHE) and President of the Croatian Society for Harm Reduction in Public Health (HaRPH). He is a member of the Croatian Medical Chamber and Head of the Department of Public Health at the Croatian National Institute of Public Health. He lectures at medical faculties in Zagreb, Rijeka, Osijek (Croatia), as well as Sarajevo and Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina).

Dr. Stevanović has authored over 300 publications in public health, pharmacoeconomics, health economics, the development of health information systems, family and palliative medicine. He has participated in numerous national, regional, and international projects, including EU-funded initiatives, focusing on healthcare management, preventive medicine, health measurement, and field studies aimed at the prevention and early detection of chronic kidney diseases, genetic inbreeding, and the implementation of classifications and standards.

He is the founder of HaRPH, which has organized two international Harm Reduction Congresses (2003 and 2004) and multiple workshops dedicated to health harm reduction. His work bridges research, education, and policy, contributing to the improvement of public health systems and evidence-based interventions in Croatia and the broader region.
