Professor Pasquale Caponnetto is a clinical and community psychologist, a systemic-relational psychotherapist, and holds a PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Stirling (UK). He is currently a Researcher in Clinical Psychology at the Department of Educational Sciences, University of Catania, and Clinical Psychologist at the University Hospital “Rodolico-San Marco” (AOU) in Catania.

He has obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification for Full and Associate Professorship in Clinical and Dynamic Psychology. He teaches in various undergraduate, postgraduate, and specialization programs in Italy and abroad, including at the City University of New York and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

He has served and continues to serve as principal investigator or co-investigator in numerous clinical and multicenter research projects, with a focus on addictions, severe psychopathology, and technological innovation in psychology (cyberpsychology, telepsychotherapy, virtual reality). His main research interests include clinical psychology, addiction, health empowerment, and the use of integrated biopsychosocial approaches.

He has authored over 160 Scopus-indexed publications, with an H-index of 33 (Scopus) and 29 (WOS) and has received more than 4,500 citations. He is actively involved in international collaborations with academic institutions in the USA, UK, India, Germany, Poland, and Qatar. His work bridges clinical practice, research, and education, with a strong focus on quality of life, mental health promotion, and harm reduction.
